The festival week culminates in a joyful closing celebration! The event’s mascot, Lehtevämies,
will host his very own concert in Itsenäisyydenpuisto Park by the Pirtinvirta stream. In addition to Lehtevämies’s songs, the concert will feature the Naattiorkesteri, whose captivating musical journey takes you on a lunch break with Loiskiainen, a flight into space, and a contemplative walk in the woods. Composed of eight musicians and music educators, the Naattiorkesteri’s music is brimming with magnificent vocal harmonies, a variety of instruments, and skillful arrangements that the whole family will enjoy.
A new addition to the stage is the Children’s Singing Arena, where brave children and teens get to sing for a large audience accompanied by professional musicians.
You can buy delicious sweet and savory snacks from the park’s food stands. Under the shade of the trees, you’ll find animal friends and turtles from the Varkaus Region Animal Welfare Association to admire. The park concert will also feature dog friends who love to be petted. Plus, you can pet a wonderfully soft alpaca visiting from the Pihlajakumpu farm. There’s a café at Tyyskä if you’re in the mood for a little extra treat. Bring a blanket or other comfortable mat and settle in to enjoy the park’s atmosphere and wonderful children’s music.
