Warkaus Hall, Market Square 6

Mon 12.6. at 18.00, duration approx. 50 min.

Water connects all the continents of our world, music also connects us with people around the world. Water also changes its shape and so does music – music and sounds are as much as imagination! The language of music is common to all of us, come and experience it in Warkaus Hall! Let’s jump on board the music ship and set off on an adventure towards the ocean of music. What will you find there? Children’s Summer Classical is a concert for the whole family, featuring violinist Johanna Koponen and pianist Alisa Methuen. The concert will be hosted by Minnamaria Koistinen.

Johanna Koponen is a violinist and violin teacher from Tampere. She graduated from Master of Music from Sibelius Academy in 2020. In 2014-2015 Johanna spent the year 2014-2014 at the Vienna State University. Johanna has been working permanently with the Lappeenranta City Orchestra from 2018-2020, until she returned to her home region Tampere, where she has been a substitute violinist with the Tampere Philharmonic from 2020-2022. Besides being a musician, teaching violin is a great source of inspiration for Johanna, and she has taught at the Pirkanmaa Music Institute and the East Helsinki Music Institute.

Alisa Methuen started playing piano at the Central Savo Music Institute under Leelo Kippa and has continued to this day with many different teachers both in Finland and abroad.  Alisa graduated with a Master of Music degree from the Scottish Moors in summer 2018 and from the Sibelius Academy of Fine Arts in Christmas 2020. She has also recently been diving into the secrets of baroque music at the Novia University of Applied Sciences in the baroque music department, with the harpsichord as her instrument.
